I remember watching Bollywood movies with my parents while I was growing up. I loved the songs, the stories and even all the dishoom, dishoom. The love of Bollywood continued into adulthood and I wanted to pass that on to my kids, too.

Of course when they are young, you have to be selective of the movies you pick and make sure they are age-appropriate.

Today we’ve picked out 5 Bollywood movies that your kids can watch and enjoy.

1. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi
This was the first Bollywood movie my kids watched and they really liked it! The story is of a shy, nerdy guy whose circumstances find him in an arranged marriage to a beautiful woman. The story unfolds with lots of fun as he tries unusual ways to get her to fall in love with him. There are also many great songs in it!

2. Hum Apke Hain Kaun
This is one of the first in a long run of completely family friendly movies that started in the 80’s. No fighting, no swearing, just lots of love, laughter and songs, of course. Yes, of course, there has to be something sad to make the plot and have a little struggle.

This movie is a Bollywood remake of the film Stepmom where divorced parents deal with family, children, new love and upheaval. It’s a movie the whole family can watch.
