Last Minute Rakhi DIY!

Raksha Bandhan is literally around the corner and to celebrate the festival of brotherhood and love I wanted to put together a super fun and festive last minute Rakhi DIY!

The word Raksha means protection, while Bandhan is the verb to tie. While traditional bracelets are red and gold woven threads often found with embellishments and beads I decided this year I would create something more upbeat and hip!

I made a quick trip to Michaels and found the perfect beads and baubles for the Rakhi craft!

Shopping List:

  1. Emoji Beads
  2. Alphabet Beads
  3. Wooden Multicolored Beads
  4. Thread

The idea behind the Rakhi’s were to make them contemporary and happy! Rakhi is a special time and I wanted these custom Rakhi’s to be stylish and sentimental at the same time.  The fun part is that you can get as sappy, witty, emotional since the ideas are endless.

I came up with some simple ideas like Bhai, Bhaiya that are are really easy to put together- especially if you are looking for something last minute! But you can really have fun with this so think out of the box! Maybe get nostalgic and spell out a nick name or initials..Wishing you all a wonderful Rakhi celebration
